I realize I rarely upload any of my own music... mostly collaborations or songs for various projects... not so much Zeitmahl, which is my true voice.... well here is something I began last night. My friend, Kassia, from All Wrong And The Plans Change, will hopefully be adding vocals to this when we flush it out this Saturday. She happens to possess one of my favorite voices of any person!

VOTD: Duran Duran - Wild Boys

I have spent the last few days working on a remake of this classic by Duran Duran and the video you see is the extended version you may or may not have seen when it was released at the height of the MAD MAX frenzy... before Mel Gibson was outed as a NAZI @$$Hole. Going back, this video cost over 1 million dollars to create, which was a RIDICULOUS amount of loot for anything as such at the time of its 1984 release. My plan is to perform this on the 28th of June at the Henry Fonda show with a few other covers before Concrete Blonde storms the stage with their magical performance!

*Concrete Blonde began are best known for the poignant songwriting and vocals of Johnette Napolitano.

Singer/ songwriter/ bassist Napolitano formed Dream 6 with guitarist James Mankey in Los Angeles in 1982, releasing an eponymous EP in France on the Happy Hermit label. When they signed with IRS in 1986, labelmate Michael Stipe (R.E.M.) suggested the name Concrete Blonde, describing the contrast between their hard rock music and introspective lyrics.

Their self-titled debut album betrayed the influence of the Pretenders. The second album, "Free", showcased Napolitano's developing songwriting and produced the college radio hit, "God Is a Bullet." The morose, textured Bloodletting, a more accomplished record than both of its predecessors, broke the band to a wider audience with the left-field Top 20 hit "Joey," the tale of a love affair ended by alcoholism and "Mexican Moon" reflected Napolitano's interest in Hispanic music and culture. The Title song is still played as an anthem in underground clubs around the world.

Concrete Blonde may have new material coming soon, along with Johnette's other projects including a flamenco project and Tres Vampires, where she is joined by David J. (Bauhaus / Love And Rockets) & Shok (Zeitmahl / Red Light District), who is also on the bill for the 28th.

Combichrist - Scarred EP

I just finished listening to the new COMBICHRIST single, "SCARRED".
I am not much of an Industrial music lover... or at least what has been regarded as Industrial for the last near 15 years. Trance music is not really my bag, baby. Anyhow... apart from a Wes Borland (Limp Bizkit) mix and Pull Out Kings, is the remix I created called the ZEITMAHL remix. By the way, the USA version of this single includes a remix from Imperative Reaction.
