SUNSHINE - VictimIsAnotherNameForLover

Another tune to get you up & moving!!! Instrumentally, this reminds me of some of the Zeitmahl album. Vocals reminiscent of Pete Shelley "Homosapien". ♫ http://blip.fm/~110u44

VOTD: Duran Duran - Boys Keep Swinging (Bowie Cover)

VOTD: Duran Duran cover David Bowie again! This is the first mp3 I have bought in a few years!!! I hope the new Duran Duran album will be as great as this! They have certainly returned to their old sound and continued! After hearing it the other night, I immediately went on Amazon and purchased!

You can find this on a new Bowie tribute, being released by manimalvinyl.com

VOTD: Trentemøller - Sycamore Feeling (Official Video)

As posted the other day on http://blip.fm/shok, I have found one of my favorite albums of the year, Into The Great Wide Yonder, which comes from Trentemøller. This is his second release, which is a shift from his mainly synthetic first album, singles and remixes, which I also loved, to an organic blend with electronics, where we find a range of gritty twang guitars, ethereal soundscapes, rocking drums and a host of wet whispery sexy vocals.

The first single, Sycamore Feeling features breathy female vocals in the vein of Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star & Jennifer Charles of Elysian Fields with the yesteryear sound from 4ad, Creation Records, Beggars Banquet and Mute Records atop a fresh pulse.

Ascertain you BUY this album, which is due for release in USA on the 6th of August.

VOTD: Blame It On The Rain

VOTD: The XX - Basic Space

It has been a grey / gray & rainy day here in Hollywood. I had a good time last night @ Absinthe & Magic night at Kung Pao Kitty. Thank you to everyone! The event is certainly growing!

Keeping with the mellow Friday February rain day, here is a fine video from The XX, who created one of my favorite albums of 2009.

VOTD: Peter Fox, who? Peter Fox you!

VIDEOS OF THE DAY

During my sessions yesterday, Mark Miller, the Steel Guitarists that David brought to the studio, showed us the following videos. I was impressed with the first one... the second one might even be better!!!

Peter Fox is a German artist who combines many styles.
Please check the amazingly synchronized drum core at the end of the 1st video! I am SERIOUS here.... make sure to watch both videos... at least enough to get the idea... dark powerful orchestral strokes, marching and groovy drums, moving bass and excellently crafted videos with snazzy tunes!

Reminder: check the amazingly synchronized drum core at the end of the video!
