Netflix Android app!
Netflix Android marriage! I am delighted! This is available now for some phones with the rest to follow soon. It presently works for the following: Samsung Nexus S, Evo 4G, Droid Incredible, T-Mobile G2 or Nexus One
HTC Droid Incredible 2
It was over a year and a half and my Motorola Droid needed to rest in peace... It let me know this late last night, so I was prompted to get a new phone today, the HTC Droid Incredible 2. While I have had my eyes on the forthcoming Motorola Bionic, this phone will work well. While it does NOT have 4G, that is fine.... it DOES have full on internet hotspot action. I can now connect all your laptops to the matrix!

This is the first song, nearly 25 minutes, Prince performed Thursday night. I shot this with my droid phone. Btw, Tambourines were sold last night for $80! Tickets, however, were only $25.
Droid Froyo Fail - FRG22D on the way
I was away, traveling, in Philadelphia, a few hours from heading to Manhattan, last week, when I updated my Motorola Droid with the OTA (over the air) upgrade from 2.1 to the Froyo 2.2 OS. My phone rebooted and slowly but surely, problems arose.
I have been experience the screen behave as if sections of it are being triggered by a phantom touch, selecting various shortcuts and then when in applications, selecting various options... this leads to anything in the lower half, right side of any screen and any area on the top. It then triggers an up and down scrolling behavior. Now while I have had some scandalous Saturday late night evenings like this that are certainly welcomed, this is NOT!
Many folks are apparently reporting similar misdemeanors from their updates as well as other issues. I took my phone to a Verizon location in Mid-Town, NYC, where they decided to factory reset my phone. This did not help much, however, it was interesting to note that all apps, and some settings are automatically downloaded and restored!
When I returned to Philadelphia, before my flight to Las Vegas, this past Monday, I took the phone to Verizon, who instead of wanting to remedy, said they would ship a phone to me by Wednesday, which came and went today with NOTHING!!! I was home all day, working with a client in the studio, and yes, I can hear a ring from the gate or a knock at the door.
In the interim, I read about FRG22D, an update which, besides fixing security issues and adding the flash player support, addresses bug issues, hopefully this one!!! This has been reportedly launched to phones as of yesterday, so we shall see.

I am wishing for this update soon as I have one of the first versions of the droid as my hardware, slide-out qwerty keyboard is beveled unlike the common flat and stiff keyboard that most folks have. Anyhow, below is a humorous note on the update! Enjoy!

After making it through the QA cycle, each file is checked in, burned to 3.5" floppy (not the 5.25" as previously reported), gift-wrapped in foil-based paper of a color chosen to complement the user's phone case, and then be-ribboned and bowed by Fifi Hotspot, VP of Distribution.
Each diskette will then be delivered by GPS-implanted lemurs and marmosets. It is recommended that you tip them with aged brie upon receipt.
With all of this in mind, please understand if you don't get FRG22D right away.

Android: WordFeud - Words With Friends for Android
I have been a huge Android enthusiast and having been a past fan of mac os as well as various windows versions, I was not sure what to expect from Android as I was hoping it would not be a linux-style platform that would drive me insane... anyhow... since the G1 first arrived, I was happy to see it, but had a nice windows mobile phone... last November, I arrived early morning, in NYC, by Columbia University to become an early adopter of the Motorola Droid, joining Verizon!
Being a beta tester for Google, I already had spent several months, with some cool applications as well as GoogleVoice, which has allowed me to keep the same number, provide visual voicemail which arrived as either txt or email and it handles all texts and btw, all of this is free... including any voicecalls I take or make! Anyhow... I will bring it back and focus on the topic at hand... You see, this post becomes the first in a new series I have on the web, tentatively titled, Ahh Android, where I introduce friends and folks to new and exciting applications, tricks and such since I am always doing this when I see people.
I have been waiting for an Android version of WORDS WITH FRIENDS, which was voted app of the year last year for Iphone. I am a huge fan of word games and Scrabble can be lots of fun and this game pits you against online players, friends or strangers.
After months of New Toy Inc., the creators of the game, saying they would be working on a version, another crew stepped up and offered an android clone, WordFeudSimilar to Words With Friends, WordFeud, allows you to challenge friends or random opponents, participating up to 20 games simultaneously!!!! Within each game, you can chat with your opponent. WordFeud, however is a FREE app. Not that $1.99 for the other is hefty, but FREE=FREE!
My first game pit me against a woman called Janina, from Dallas, on the Motorola Cliq, and we shared some laughs. Our game, is continuing... My phone notifies me when it is my turn, and saves the game in between turns, so we taken turns as time permits.Great for a quick break, toilet activity, travel companion, etc. I like the game play and the interface works well. Advertisements appear between turns, but there is a big SKIP button. Enjoy!!!! :)
