Tonight's Event - Canceled

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we will not be holding our event this evening at Boardners.

We look forward to seeing you in the near future. Darren Revell can be seen on Tuesdays at Kung Pao Kitty and I will be headed on an east coast tour at the end of the month.

In the interim, for amusing links, trivia, strange-yet-fascinating-videos, free music downloads, film & food reviews and humorous tidbits, please visit my blog:

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, discussion items and or need to communicate personal issues or simply tell me a fantastic joke such as you are taking me for a night on the town... please email me here: http://scr.im/shok

VOTD: LA Wildfire Time Lapse from Elysian Park

It has nearly been a month since the outbreak of the massive fire in Los Angeles. Here is a rather interesting time lapse capture of the smoke and flames as seen from Elysian Park, which is somewhat reminiscent of Koyaanisqatsi or Baraka.

Speaking of fire...

Darren Revell and I spin an eclectic mix of alternative music from Electro to Rock, Triphop to Industrial, Disco to Cabaret, Soul to Dubstep and exhilarating songs from other genres too.

Trailer of The Day: The Lovely Bones (Peter Jackson)

While you may or may not be a fan of Peter Jackson, a fan of the two-season series, "Dead Like Me" or the actors, Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Susan Sarandon, Rachel Weisz, the visuals for the following film spark my interest and perhaps yours as well.

The story, written by Alice Sebold (raised in Philadelphia suburbs), is about a girl who is murdered and in her afterlife, watches over her family and killer.

While the film was initially set for a December 11th release, it will be nationwide for the 10th of January 2010. That date sounds like the far future... Did you ever see or read 2010, the 2001 sequel?

The Lovely Bones on IMDB
Alice Sebold on Wikipedia

There is another adaptation of Alice's story to film, Anghel sa lupa, one from the Philippines, and it is available on Netflix and Amazon.

This is a quick reminder about Friday and it being FREE FRIDAYS @ Boardners brought to you by RevellShok.
